Back in 2021, Twinnie released her first album, Hollywood Gypsy and then last week she finally dropped her sophomore album, Something We Used To Say. She made the three year wait worthwhile because this album has twenty-two songs, which is more than some divas greatest hits albums. That being said, Something We Used To Say is a bit of a compilation album.
It contains the six songs from Twinnie’s 2023 EP, Blue Hour (After Dark):
While also containing the half dozen songs off her EP from earlier this year, Blue Hour (Before Dawn):
Then there’s the ten new songs that round out Something We Used To Say, continuing Twinnie’s country-pop journey. The album is full of the complexities of relationships put to music. Twinnie’s lyrics, which she cowrites, are always emotional and smart with a wink of humor. The album is rollercoaster of drama that lasts for well over an hour and ends appropriately with “Last Song.” If Twinnie doesn’t end all of her current tour dates and all future shows with this song, it would be a travesty.
In my gay opinion, this Hollywood Gypsy has grown and matured but she still knows how to have some fun and write a song that serves all the feels!
